Leaving Brasilia we are now making our way westwards to Peru, a journey that will take several days. These days are just drive day’s, nothing much to see, even the places we overnight at are uninteresting.
At the same time we have started to transition from camping to staying in hotels after spending most of the last three months in tents.
Nearing the Peruvian border we crossed the Rio Madeira river, see photos, and a day later overnighted at Xapuri which had received severe flood damage, more photos, from the tropical rains we have been having the past few days.
Everyone is grateful that the Odyssey truck has been repaired, the long drives are now in comfort. After Pete’s departure the food has definitely improved. The dinners have actually become tastier along with the occasional egg for breakfast and tuna fish for lunch 🙂
