If you’re visiting Patagonia then the one place you have to trek is to the foot of the Torrese de Paine. The spectacle scene at sunrise as the sun strikes the rock face is for many motivation to rise early to take the route up to the lagoon at base of the towers.
Unfortunately camping down in the valley it takes a little bit longer to walk. Rising at one in the morning, Mike and myself donned head torches to make the four hour trek up to the base of the Paine.
The weather that day decided not to favour us with sunshine, it rained some of the way and started to snow as we reached the lagoon but the mist did part so we actually got to see the towers.
The journey down for me was even more gruelling. It’s all downhill! Can’t wait to get my new knees 🙂
