Telavi was the capital of the kingdom of Kakheti in the 10-11th century and later in 17-18th centuries. Now it’s a small and cozy town, which goes to sleep at 9pm. Located only an hour and a half from Tbilisi, Telavi is set in the vineyard-strewn Alazani valley, between the Gombori Mountains and the Caucasus.
