Great place to visit, lots of culture! Most of the old parts are being restored and they’re doing a good job.
The name Tbilisi derives from the Old Georgian word Tpili, meaning warm. The name Tbili or Tbilisi (warm location) was therefore given to the city because of the area’s numerous sulphuric hot springs that came out of the ground.
In the tax free at the border into Georgia some us stocked up on spirt. I bought a bottle of gin only to discover that it’s literally impossible to buy tonic here in Georgia! Tbilisi to the rescue, the first super market since leaving Norway. Bought there whole supply of tonic, 24 cans, so now I’ll enjoy the bush camp 🙂
